MIAMI, FLORIDA, April 13 2018 — Miami’s Fashion District is the new hot area for the elite stores of fashion design and it just added Dolce & Gabbana to its repertoire, with a two-story, 5,402-square-foot boutique.
To celebrate the opening, the iconic fashion house threw a two day event, that included a runway show, showcasing a stunning collection of mens and womens fashions, and a sit down dinner. The hair, makeup and nail styles for all 56 models were designed by Woody and Amy Michleb for Style the Runway, the official hair care styling line for the event.
Stefano Gabbana described Miami as “Fun, Light, Design and Art.” You can see from the final looks and the models, the team wanted to have a playful and colorful time with the hair styles and makeup. The Dolce & Gabbana nail lacquer used was called “Fire” and makeup lead Nikki Carmela mixed a matching lip color out of pure pigments to ensure that all girls were cohesive. Skin was glowy and bronzed with a simple ombré eye from light to brown and a small winged eye liner.
For the hairstyle, Woody & Amy wanted to create a style that was a fresh take on classic 40’s styles, with colorful flowers and a very clean finish to represent the latin-miami flair of the area! “It is always important for us to ensure that any time we do a show where the designers allow us creative license, that we can show off the talent and artistic abilities of hairdressers.” Says Woody Michleb, Artistic Director and CEO for Style the Runway.
Three of the four looks kept the hair up, and off the face in various victory rolls, while keeping a smooth flawless finish. Once the hair was done, the styles were completed with a selection of Orchids, some rare Orchids were flown in from around the world specially for the event, and various colors including magenta, green, white, purple, blue, orange and yellow, as well they used Lillies in White, Orange and Yellow.
